ENAD - Bringing Quality Indian Theater Locally

YOUR FEEDBACK COUNTS

You might think that what is the point of investing your time in giving feedback to ENAD.  Like in most organizations or associations, they are going to be lost anyway.  Let us assure you by saying that ENAD is quite different than most organizations.  For example, we are well-known for our disciplined productions.  We implement rules based on feedback that we receive from our audience.  For example, a lot of our audience provided feedback that they could not fully enjoy our performance because of small children who needed immediate attention. In response to this feedback, ENAD enacted a rule since 2003 that children below 6 will not be allowed in our theater. Considering that our audience base is young and have mostly small children, this rule has affected the amount of people we can reach with our performance.  Regardless, we have listened to you.

Early part of of 2001, our audience base requested us to stage contemporary and relevant drama. It is hard to find drama from Indian playwrights which can be considered relevant to immigrants in USA.  ENAD, therefore, took up the job of writing a contemporary script in their own workshop.  As a result, Chhenra Collage (Collage Torn) emerged and was staged in 2002-2003. It was highly appreciated by the audience base in Northern California and the script was later published in www.parabaas.com. Since then, many drama groups located all over USA seeked ENAD’s approval to enact Chhenra Collage for their own audience since they greatly enjoyed the script.

Then in 2003, our audience, after seeing us stage Manoj Mitra’s Parabaas, requested us to engage in experiments and do something that we have never done before. We listened to your feedback and started working on Robotana in our own workshop again.  Robotana is unique in it’s presentation with a lot of original songs and choreography. We stretched ourselves with this production but was happy to see that a good section of our audience liked what we did and started comparing us with performance in Kolkata.

So here is your turn to let us know either what you would like to see from ENAD or how you liked/disliked our last performance. While ENAD does not guarantee that they will implement every wishes of our audience but we can definitely ensure you that we will review your comments and critique with utmost diligence that they deserve. Thanks again for visiting our web site and for your thoughtful comments.
