ENAD - Bringing Quality Indian Theater Locally

CHOTUSKON - A Bengali play by Bratyo Basu

ENAD was proud to get invited to participate in the first Bengali Drama Festival organized in Los Angeles, California on 28th April, 2007. ENAD presented its nineth production Bratyo Basu's Chotuskon, specially designed and produced for the festival.  Chotuskon was again staged on 2nd June, 2007 for Bay Area Drama Festival in Amador Theatre, Pleasanton, CA. This show was performed at request of Sanskriti.  We are extremely happy to get positive feedback from audience and media.

Chotuskon ("A Quadrangle") is a story of love, hatred, hope, betrayal, aspiration and disillusion with varied angles. Its characters have layers, which make them complex and intriguing. It depicts how the meaning of the word "value" changes from person to person, from context to context, from time to time. The playwright Bratyo Basu creates a captivating drama through mind games, manipulations and crimes by seemingly ordinary people that challenges the very fundamentals of right and wrong.

Chotuskon was originally performed on 28th April, 2007 at Bellflower Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA.  Please click here for the colorful flyer and see the pictures from the show.

“Chotuskon, a presentation by ENAD was easily the best production.  Over the years, ENAD continues to impress with its passionate, serious commitment to bringing top-quality Bangla theater to its enthusiasts, and the great thing about this group is that it doesn’t cut corners.”
