ENAD is an active Bengali drama group in San Francisco Bay area. ENAD has been producing Bengali plays for the local audience since the year 2000. We believe in the totality of a theatrical production. ENAD productions are created with original songs, musical scores, choreography, and often, original script. Our productions regularly receive accolades for imaginative set and light designs. The plays we produce deal with a panoply of issues and ideas - some taking on contemporary and universal social issues, while some others are fantasies, or situational comedies set in bygone eras. Our original plays have included political allegories, first-generation immigrant issues, challenges of marital relationships and dissection of relationships of a couple returning to India. While all our plays have been thought provoking, they have not compromised on entertainment value.
ENAD's last prodution, Ron, was bilingual (Bengali with English super titles), a play written by Sudipto Bhawmik. It was staged on December 8, 2007 at Cubberley Theater in Palo Alto. Please click here for flyer and click here for colorful poster of Ron.
Like every other show, we worked this time with two non-profit organizations, Agami and Maitri. All our profits will be forwarded to these organizations.
Our earlier production was Bratyo Basu's Chotuskon. This play was staged for both Southern California’s first Natyomela and Sanskriti's third Natyomela, 2007. We are extremely happy to get a very positive feedback from audience and professionals of the field.
